Confession

Okay, so yesterday I shared with you my most embarrassing moment lately. Actually, I'm not sure it's my most embarrassing moment, but it's definitely the most embarrassing moment I'm willing to share in such a public forum!
So now it's your turn. Come on, what's your most embarrassing moment? The time you and your friend were going to yell to the cute guy on the football field, but she chickened out at the last minute leaving you hooting all by yourself? Oh wait. That was me.
How about the time you tripped up the stairs going into the choirloft--right as the church service began? Wait. Me again.
Come on, help me out here! I'm not the only one to turn bright red, am I? What's your most embarrassing moment?

  1. I am not sure it is my most embarrassing moment or not (probably not but the one comes to mind first) but we were in a missions conference once in the banquet and a color family sat with us in the table. I don't know why ut Kayla pointed at him and said "Look mommy, he is black" She also said it loud enough for him to hear that. I don't know why she said that because they are more than used to being with black people, having people over to the house and play with them but.... I didn't know what to do, so I just took her aside and talk to her and then made sure that I was plenty of nice with them so they didn't think we were racist.... we did get support from that church though.

  2. Let's see ... in the multitude of embarrassing moments I've had over the years, the one that stands out the most happened during my graduation from Bible Institute. As I was walking up the steps to the platform, I walked right out of one of my shoes! I didn't know what to do, so I just kept walking. Pastor Allison, noticing my blood red face, asked, "What happened?" "I lost my shoe," said I, pointing to my bare tootsies. He laughed & handed me my diploma as I walked over to Brother Larry who asked, "What happened?" Now noticing the quiet laughter going on behind me, I said, "I lost my shoe!" He, too, giggled as he moved my tassel.
As I went down the steps to get off the platform, I was quizzed by Mrs. Allison, who, of course, laughed as I proceeded to kick off my other shoe, not wanting to walk out of the auditorium lopsided!
By the time I made it back to my seat, what was waiting for me but the first shoe! Evidently, one of the young men handed the shoe to the night's speaker, Pastor Logan, who in turn passed it to the folks in the choir loft, who passed it to my seat.
I had no choice. When it was time to leave, I held my head high, hid the shoe in the sleeve of my robe and walked down the steps, through the aisle and into the foyer completely barefooted! Oh, well, at least I graduated!

  3. Thank you for assuring me I'm not the only one! Freda, I'd heard you lost your shoe at graduation, but I didn't realize you went through it barefoot! A moment that will live in Madison infamy!
Pilar, I've had my kids blurt out things better left unsaid, too. Guess it wasn't too bad if the church still supported you.
Thanks for giving me a laugh today!
